1126 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 656

404A. All taxes due and owing the town of Lonaconing
from assessments of real, personal or mixed or otherwise prop-
erty, assessed within the corporate limits of said Town shall
be collected within six years after they shall become due, or
shall else be utterly barred; and no such taxes shall be assessed
or collected after such period; provided (a) that when Col-
lectors shall have failed to collect such taxes and Receivers
and Trustees have, within said period, been appointed to com-
plete the collection thereof, the period for collection thereof
shall be extended for two years from the time of the appoint-
ment of such Receivers or Trustees, and (b)) that any action
at law or suit in equity for collection of such taxes or for sale
of property to pay the same or for the enforcement of any lieu
therefor may, if instituted within the period hereinabove
prescribed, be prosecuted as if this section had never been
passed, and any judgment or decree therein may be enforced
or renewed as other judgments or decrees.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all
the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 656.
(House Bill 645)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
762 to 766, inclusive, of Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Mt. Rainier", relating to town
Elections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted Toy the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 762 to 766, inclusive of Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County", sub-title "Mt. Rainier", be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
read as follows:

762. The qualified voters of said town shall on the first
Monday in May, 1943, and every two years thereafter, at
