SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 599.
(Senate Bill 512)

AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 36 of Article
1A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Cumberland", as said section was amend-
ed by Chapter 417 of the Acts of 1939, said new sub-
section to be known as sub-section (j) and to follow
immediately after sub-section (i) of said section, relat-
ing to political activities by members of the Civil Service
Commission in Cumberland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added
to Section 36 of Article 1A of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cumberland",
as said section was amended by Chapter 417 of the Acts
of 1939, said new sub-section to be known as sub-section
(j), to follow immediately after sub-section (i) of said
. section, and to read as follows:

36.

(j) No person, while on the said commission, shall en-
gage in any municipal election or political campaign, or
solicit or give any contribution to aid in the campaign or
election of any candidate for a municipal office in the City
of Cumberland.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1941.
