to enact in lieu thereof twenty-one new sections to be
known as Sections 205 to 205T, inclusive, to follow imme-
diately after Section 204 of said Article, under the sub-
title "Motor Vehicles", sub-heading "Traffic Court of
Baltimore City", to provide a group of justices of the
peace to try motor vehicle violations in the City of
Baltimore; to establish their salaries, jurisdiction,
powers and duties; to provide clerical assistants for said
justices and to establish their compensation, powers and
duties; to provide for the collection of fines by said clerks
and their remission to the Commissioner of Motor Vehi-
cles; and to provide for probation of minors convicted
of violating the Motor Vehicle Laws.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 205 of Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement), as amended by
Chapter 310 of the Acts of 1937, title "Licenses", sub-title
"Motor Vehicles", sub-(heading "Traffic Court", be and it
is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That twenty-one new
sections be and they are hereby enacted in lieu of Section
205 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935
Supplement), as amended by Chapter 310 of the Acts of
1937, title "Licenses", sub-title "Motor Vehicles", sub-
heading "Traffic Court", to be known as Sections 205 to
205T, inclusive, to follow immediately after Section 204
of said Article under the sub-title "Motor Vehicles", sub-
heading "Traffic Court of Baltimore City", and to read as
follows:

205. There is hereby created a group of justices of the
peace of the City of Baltimore at large to be known by
the collective term "Traffic Court of Baltimore City".

205A. Appointment. In addition to the justices of the
peace provided for in Section 712 of Article 4 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, (1938 Edition), there
shall be appointed by the Governor by and with the advice
and consent of the Senate from the City of Baltimore at
large, four justices of the peace to be known as magis-
trates of the Traffic Court who shall be of high moral
character and reputable members of the bar of the Supreme
Bench of Baltimore City, who shall have been actively
engaged in the practice of law for at least five years.

The Governor shall designate one of said justices to be
known as chief magistrate of the Traffic Court whose duties
shall be to care for the general business of said Court and
to have complete charge of the administration thereof with
