CHAPTER 403.
(Senate Bill 345)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
931 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws and
Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore
City", sub-title "Physicians to the Police Force", increas-
ing the salaries of the physicians of the Police
Department of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 931 of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Physicians to
the Police Force", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments to read as follows:

931. The salary of the said chief physician shall be
twenty-one hundred dollars ($2, 100. 00) per annum, pay-
able monthly; and the salary of each of the other said phy-
sicians shall be eighteen hundred dollars ($1, 800. 00) per
annum, payable monthly; but the tenure of office of said
chief physician and each of the other of said physicians
shall be determinable within the term for which he or they
were appointed by the said Commissioner, and in his exclu-
sive discretion; and the said chief physician and each of the
other of said physicians shall be compensated only up to
the time of such determination at the rate of his or their
salary aforesaid.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect January 1st, 1940.

tax
