AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
540 to 549, inclusive, and Section 556 of Article 22 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Washington County, " sub-title "Justices
of the Peace and Constables, " providing for the appoint-
ment of two Justices of the Peace at Large and of three
Constables at Large in Washington County.

CHAPTER 375.
(Senate Bill 119)

AN ACT to add five new sections to Article 78A of the An-
notated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement), title
"Public Works—Board of, " said new sections to be
known as Sections 1 to 5, inclusive, of said Article,
authorizing the Board of Public Works to make agree-
ments with the United States relative to the performance
of certain services and projects as defined herein and
for certain payments by the United States in lieu of
taxes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That five new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 78A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1935 Supplement), title "Public Works—Board of", said
new sections to be known as Sections 1 to 5, inclusive,
of said Article, and to read as follows:

1. The following definitions shall be applied to the
terms used in this Act:

(1) "Agreement" shall mean "contract", and shall in-
clude renewals and alterations of a contract.

(2) "Board" shall mean the Board of Public Works of
Maryland.

(3) "State" shall mean the State of Maryland.

(4) "Services" shall mean such public and state func-
tions as are performed for property in and persons re-
siding within this State.
