and 483-O, to follow immediately after Section 483M of said
Article and to read as follows:

483N. Nothing contained in Section 483 of this Article,
however, shall be construed as prohibiting, penalizing or mak-
ing unlawful the playing, within Wicomico County, on the first
day of the week, commonly called Sunday, of games of base-
ball, golf, tennis, croquet, basket ball, lacrosse, soccer and
hockey by any person or persons, whether the same be played
for recreation or admission to said games be charged; pro-
vided, however, that baseball shall not be played after 6. 00
P. M. on Sundays.

483-O. Nothing contained in said Section 483 shall be con-
strued as prohibiting, penalizing or making unlawful the of-
ficiating at or assisting in the conduct of the playing of games
of baseball, golf, tennis, croquet, basket ball, lacrosse, soccer
and hockey within Wicomico County on the first day of the
week, commonly called Sunday, of an umpire, manager, ground
keeper, gate keeper, ticket seller, guard or any other attend-
ant, although such person or persons so officiating at said
games of baseball or assisting in conduct thereof, are engaged
therein as an occupation, pursuit or business.

SEC. 1A. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall not
become effective until it shall have been submitted to and ap-
proved by a majority of the voters of Wicomico County voting
thereon at any special election which may be held in said
county prior to the primary election to be held in the State
in May, 1940, at which time this Act shall be voted upon. If
there be no special election held in the year 1939 and if there
be no primary election in May, 1940, then this Act shall be
submitted to the voters of said county for adoption or rejec-
tion at the general election in November, 1940. There shall
be printed on the ballots to be used at said special election, if
held in 1939, or at the primary election to be held in May,
1940, or at the general election to be held in November, 1940?
as the case may be, the title of this Act and underneath said
title and on separate lines, a square or box to the right of
and opposite the words "For Athletic Games or Sports on
Sunday" and a corresponding square or box to the right of
and opposite the words "Against Athletic Games or Sports on
Sunday", so that the voters of Wicomico County shall be able
to designate by a cross mark in the proper square or box, his
or her decision for or against said question. If a majority of
the votes cast on said question shall be "For Athletic Games
or Sports on Sunday", then this Act shall become effective
immediately, but if a majority of the votes cast thereon shall
