plement), entitled "Health", to be under the sub-title
"Commissioners of Pharmacy", said new section to follow
immediately after Section 234 of said Article, and to be
known as Section 234-A, and to be and read as follows,
to wit:

234-A. Any person of good moral character who on
June 1, 1939, is registered in this State as an assistant
pharmacist and who shall present satisfactory evidence
to the Maryland Board of Pharmacy that he or she has
been continuously engaged in retail pharmacy in this
State since his or her registration as an assistant phar-
macist and who, after a special examination by the said
Board, shall be by it deemed competent, shall be regis-
tered as a pharmacist and be given a certificate of such
registration, provided, however, that such registration as
a pharmacist under this Section shall not entitle such
person to the privileges of reciprocity provided for by
Section 238 of this Article. Such person shall make appli-
cation to the Secretary of said Board at least ten days
before any stated meeting of the Board, and shall pay to
the said Board a fee of twenty-five dollars.
The Maryland Board of Pharmacy shall have full power
to adopt such rules and regulations as it may deem neces-
sary with respect to examinations provided for by this
Section.

Every applicant for the special examinations provided
for by this Section shall, with his or her application to
the Secretary of the Board, file a written declaration on
a form to be supplied by the Maryland Board of Phar-
macy, duly sworn to before a Justice of the Peace or Notary
Public, stating the pharmacy or pharmacies in which he
or she has been engaged since his or her registration as an
assistant pharmascist as heretofore provided by this Sec-
tion. Anyone swearing falsely in the affidavit so filed
shall be deemed guilty of perjury.

No such examinations provided for under this Section
shall be given by the said Board after May 31, 1940, but
the said Board may, after May 31, 1940, register as a
pharmacist, and issue a certificate of such registration,
as above provided, to, any person who has successfully
passed any such examination provided for by this Section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland,
That Section 238 of Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of the Public General Laws of Maryland
(1924 Edition), entitled "Health", under the sub-title
"Commissioners of Pharmacy", be and the same is hereby
