the payment of such taxes on the deed, and the person
offering said deed for record shall have submitted the
same, bearing such endorsement, to the Clerk to the County
Commissioners of said county, who shall thereupon make
transfer on the county assessment books of the said prop-
erty to the name of the new owner or owners thereof,
and as evidence of said transfer, shall stamp upon the
said deed his certificate thereof, and no deed shall be re-
ceived for record without said endorsement and said cer-
tificate. At the time of submitting the deed to the Clerk
to the County Commissioners, the person or persons offer-
ing the same shall furnish said clerk with a statement of
the buildings, if any, upon the land conveyed by said deed,
and the price paid for the property.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts and
parts of Acts inconsistent with this Act be and they are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1939.

CHAPTER 298.
(House Bill 468)
AN ACT to add one new section to Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1938 Edition), title "Balti-
more City", sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables",
said new section to be known as Section 749A, to follow
immediately after Section 749 of said Article, relating to
the taking of certain oaths of office.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That one new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Justices of the
Peace and Constables", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 749A, to follow immediately after Section 749 of said
Article, and to read as follows:
749A. No public officer, special police officer, or other
official appointed for Baltimore City by any authority, shall
take any oath of office required by law, before any Justice of
