SEC. 18. (Time of Taking Effect). This Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 295.
(Senate Bill 140)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
1 and 5 of Chapter 199 of the Acts of 1843, entitled "An
Act to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Company of
Frederick County", Section 5 of said Act having been
amended by Chapter 308 of the Acts of 1927, authoriz-
ing the Mutual Insurance Company of Frederick County
to insure property against loss or damage by wind-
storm, hurricane and other risks and relating to notices
of special meetings.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 1 and 5 of Chapter 199 of the
Acts of 1843, entitled "An Act to Incorporate the Mutual
Insurance Company of Frederick County, " Section 5 of
said Act having been amended by Chapter 308 of the Acts
of 1927, be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:

1. Wm. J. Ross, Patrick Tormey, Lawrence J. Brengle,
Lewis Medtart, Zachariah T. Windsor, Edward Trail,
Hugh McAleer, William H. Albaugh, Calvin Page, Francis
Leuber, Ezekiel Hughes, David Boyd, Joseph Deck, John
Wilcoxen, William F. Johnson, John Ramsburg, Philip
Hauptman, Robert Boone, George Hoskins, George Dertz-
baugh, and Baldwin Woodward, and all other persons
who may hereafter associate with them in the manner
herein prescribed, be and they are hereby incorporated,
by the name of "The Mutual Insurance Company of Fred-
erick County, " for the purpose of insuring their respective
dwelling houses, manufactories, mills, stores, shops and
other buildings, merchandise, household furniture, and
other property against loss or damage by fire, windstorm,
hurricane, cyclone, tornado and hail, explosion, theft, riot,
riot attending a strike, aircraft, water, smoke, and any
damage caused to and by vehicles, and by such name shall
have succession; to sue and be sued, plead and be im-
pleaded, in any court of law or equity in this State, to
