certain bonds of said town, and to levy and collect taxes
upon the assessable property in said Town for the pur-
pose of paying the principal and interest on said bonds
as the same may fall due.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the Mayor and City Council of Brunswick,
a municipal corporation, in Frederick County, Maryland,
be and it is hereby authorized and empowered, in its dis-
cretion, to borrow, from time to time, upon the faith and
credit of said municipal corporation in an amount not to
exceed One Hundred and Sixty-one Thousand Dollars
($161, 000. 00), for the purpose of redeeming and refunding
a like amount of outstanding bonds of said municipal cor-
poration which are now redeemable or which will become
redeemable during 1940, as follows:

(1) $61, 000 Permanent Water Improvement Bonds
issued pursuant to Chapter 109 of the Acts of 1918, redeem-
able on or after January 1, 1929.

(2) $20, 000 Water Extension Bonds issued pursuant
to Chapter 372 of the Acts of 1922, reedeemable on or
after October 1, 1937.

(3) $10, 000 Street Improvement Bonds issued pursu-
ant to Chapter 371 of the Acts of 1922, redeemable on or
after October 1, 1937.

(4) $20, 000 Street Improvement Bonds issued pursu-
ant to Chapter 452 of the Acts of 1924, of which $10, 000
become redeemable on or after September 1, 1934, and
$10, 000 become redeemable on or after August 1, 1935.

(5) $30, 000 Street Improvement Bonds issued pursuant
to Chapter 136 of the Acts of 1927, of which $10, 000 became
redeemable on or after September 1, 1937, $10, 000 become
redeemable on or after July 1, 1938, and $10, 000 become
redeemable on or after September 1, 1939.

(6) $20, 000 Street Improvement Bonds issued pursu-
ant to Chapter 28 of the Acts of 1929, of which $10, 000
become redeemable on or after October 1, 1939, and $10, 000
become redeemable on or after April 1, 1940.

The raising and borrowing of said amount and the issu-
ance of said bonds provided for in this Act shall not be
required to be submitted to a vote of the people.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
Council of Brunswick is hereby authorized and empowered
