CHAPTER 292.
(Senate Bill 95)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1938 Edition), title
"Baltimore City, " sub-title "Police Commissioner, " said
new section to be known as Section 884A and to follow
immediately after Section 884 of said Article, relating
to the compensation and classification of the present
employees of the Police Department designated as
laborers.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City, " sub-title
"Police Commissioner, " said new section to be known as
Section 884A, to follow immediately after Section 884 of
said Article, and to read as follows:
884A. The sixteen men now employed in the Police
Department of Baltimore City and designated as laborers
shall, on and after January 1, 1940, be classified as main-
tenance men and shall each receive a wage or compensation
of thirty-five dollars ($35. 00) per week. The said com-
pensation shall be paid by the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore City and the Police Commissioner of said City
shall include the same in his annual estimate of expenses
certified to the said Mayor and City Council.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect January 1, 1940.

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 392 of the Acts of 1937 (Gen-
eral Session) and to authorize and empower the Mayor
and City Council of Brunswick, Frederick County, Mary-
land, to issue and sell bonds, to an amount not to exceed
One Hundred and Sixty-one Thousand Dollars ($161, -
000. 00) for the purpose of redeeming and refunding
