providing for the reduction of bond required for sheriffs
of Talbot County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 2 of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Oath of
Office and Bond", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

2. He shall also, before he acts as such, give bond to the
State of Maryland in the penalty of twenty-five thousand
dollars with security, to be approved by the two judges of the
Orphans' Court or a judge of the Circuit Court for his county,
if he be elected for a county, or by two judges of the Orphans'
Court of Baltimore City, or a judge of the Superior Court of
Baltimore City, if he be elected for said city, with condition
that he shall well and faithfully execute the office of sheriff
of County or the City of Baltimore, in all things appertaining
thereto, and shall well and truly perform all the duties re-
quired by law to be by him performed; provided, that the sher-
iffs elected for Somerset, Harford, Calvert, Howard, Carroll,
St. Mary's, Dorchester, Anne Arundel, Queen Anne's, Wicom-
ico, Garrett, Worcester, Montgomery, Kent, Baltimore and
Caroline Counties shall be required to give bond in the penalty
of ten thousand dollars and the sheriff elected for Talbot
County ten thousand dollars, and for no greater sum.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 268.
(House Bill 569)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 2 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Annapolis", said new section to
be known as Section 60B and to follow immediately after
Section 60A of said Article, as added by Chapter 400 of the
Acts of 1937, authorizing the operation of bowling alleys in
the City of Annapolis in Anne Arundel County during cer-
tain hours on Sunday and providing for a referendum vote
thereon.
