promissory note or notes therefor. The said notes shall be
signed by the President of said County Commissioners of
Kent County and the Treasurer of said County and shall
bear interest at such rate or rates and be payable at such
time or times as said Commissioners shall by resolution
provide. The said County Commissioners are hereby
authorized and directed to levy a tax on the assessable
property in said County to provide sufficient funds to pay
the interest on said note or notes as it becomes due and to
redeem the said note or notes when they become due.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
90 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-
title "Fire Companies", as said section was amended by
Chapter 56 of the Acts of the Special Session of 1936,
authorizing the County Commissioners of Wicomico
County to appropriate in their annual levy certain sums
of money for Volunteer Fire Companies in said County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 90 of Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Wicomico County", sub-title "Fire Companies", as said
section was amended by Chapter 56 of the Acts of the
Special Session of 1936, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
90. The County Commissioners of Wicomico County
are hereby authorized to appropriate and levy annually the
sum of Eleven Thousand Dollars ($11, 000. 00), to be paid
to the several Volunteer Fire Companies in said County, in
such amount or amounts as the said County Commissioners,
