through which such person may pass and shall remain
stationary until such person has completed the crossing
of such intersection. Any operator of a vehicle who vio-
lates the provisions hereof shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be fined not less
than one dollar ($1. 00) no more than One Hundred Dol-
lars ($100, 00).

Any person who shall carry or use a cane in violation
of the provisions hereof shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and shall, upon conviction, be fined not less
than one dollar ($1. 00) nor more than Twenty-five Dol-
lars ($25. 00) for the first offense.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1st, 1939.

CHAPTER 191.
(Senate Bill 222)

AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 15 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Kent County", sub-title "Betterton", said new Sec-
tions to be known as Sections 66-D, 66-E, and 66-F
and to follow immediately after Section 66-C of said
Article, authorizing and empowering The Commissioners
of Betterton, Kent County, to borrow on the faith and
credit of said town, a sum of money not exceeding Fifteen
hundred ($1, 500. 00) dollars for each year until the year
1951 to be used in payment for amount due on road bonds
and coupons thereon, issued for street improvement
under Act of Assembly of 1927, Chapter 529, and to issue
a note or notes therefor and to provide for the payment
of interest on said note or notes and the redemption
thereof at maturity by taxes to be levied upon all the
assessable property in said town of Betterton,,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That three new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, (1930 Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title
"Betterton", said new sections to be known as Sections
66-D, 66-E and 66-F, to follow immediately after Section
66-C of said Article and to read as follows:
