abolish the offices of State Engineer, Senior Assistant State
Engineer, Junior Assistant State Engineer, and the posi-
tions of any employees in the State Department of Me-
chanical Engineering.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 128 to 131, inclusive of Article 41 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "Gov-
ernor—Executive and Administrative Departments, " sub-title
"Department of Engineering, " be and the same are hereby re-
pealed, and the offices of State Engineer, Senior Assistant
State Engineer, Junior Assistant State Engineer, and the
positions of any employees in the State Department of Me-
chanical Engineering, be, and the same are hereby abolished.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1st, 1939.

CHAPTER 166.
(House Bill 60)

AN ACT to exempt, for a period of two years, the Emmits-
burg Railroad Company from all state taxes and from all
county taxes in the County of Frederick.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That the Emmitsburg Railroad Company shall be ex-
empt from all state taxes and from all county taxes in the
County of Frederick for a period of two years from January
1, 1939.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

Approved May 17, 1939.

CHAPTER 167.
(House Bill 80)

AN ACT to repeal and reenact with amendments Section 80
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Sup-
plement), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments, " sub-title "State Librarian, " requiring the
State Librarian to supply one copy of the Maryland reports
to the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City.
