Washington Metropolitan District in Montgomery County,
authorized and directed by this section, shall be insufficient
to pay the interest and/or to redeem the bonds, as the case
may be, in that year, then and in that event the Board of
County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby
authorized, directed, and empowered to levy generally upon
the assessable property in said County an amount sufficient
to make up the said deficit, either in principal or interest,
respectively.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all of the members of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

(House Bill 302)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Board of County
Commissioners of Montgomery County in its discretion to
borrow upon the faith and credit of said County to the
amount of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40, 000. 00), and to issue
and sell bonds therefor, the proceeds thereof to be used by
the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County
to pay the State Roads Commission of Maryland to complete
the improved highway from Poolesville to White's Ferry in
Montgomery County, to authorize the Board of County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County to complete said im-
proved highway, in the event that the State Roads Commis-
sion shall, for any reason, refuse to complete the same; to
provide generally for the payment of interest on the said
bonds and the principal thereof by the levy of taxes, and to
provide that this Act shall be passed as an emergency meas-
ure.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery
County be, and it is hereby authorized and empowered in its
discretion to issue serial coupon bonds on the faith and credit
of said county, to the amount of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40, -
000. 00), par value, said bonds to be issued in denominations of
