books of the names of those who have not voted in the
six preceding years, prescribing the manner in which
said names shall be transcribed, prescribing the notice
to be given to those whose names are omitted from the
new books, directing that in the future the registration
officers shall strike from the registration books in Har-
ford County the names of those who have not voted in
six preceding years, and repealing all laws inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That two new sections be added to Article 33
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title
"Elections, " sub-title "Registration, " said new sections to
be known as Sections 29T and 29U, to follow immediately
after Section 29S of said Article, and to read as follows:
29T. In Harford County, when in the opinion of the
Supervisors of Elections it becomes necessary to rewrite
any of the registration books by virtue of the fact that
said books have become so worn or the lettered sub-divi-
sions thereof have become so filled with names that it is not
practicable to further use said books, the names of all
persons now registered on such registration books, except
those who have not voted at a primary, general or special
election in the six preceding calendar years shall be tran-
scribed on new registration books to be provided by the
Board of Supervisors of Elections of Harford County,
with the approval and consent of the County Commis-
sioners of Harford County, both as to the procurement of
the new books and the manner in which the names are to
be transcribed, subject to the provisions of this Act.
The work of transcribing the names of said persons to
the new books shall be done under the supervision and
direction of the said Supervisors of Elections by persons
of intelligence who write a clear legible hand, easy to read,
or in the event that said books are rewritten on a type-
writer, indelible ribbon must be used, and the machines
must be operated by persons who ate skilled in the opera-
tion thereof, one-half of whom shall be selected from each
of the two leading political parties of the County. The
persons so selected and the compensation they are to
receive must be approved by the County Commissioners of
Harford County, and the work of transcribing said names
to the new books must be completed by January 1, in any
year preceding an election.
In the case of persons who are registered on the present
registration books, who have not voted at least once at a
primary, general or special election in the six calendar
