SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That Sixteen Thou-
sand Dollars ($16, 000. 00) of the proceeds of the sale of
said bonds shall be used for refunding and payment of
notes due and owing by the Commissioners of Denton, and
the balance shall be used for the building and repairing
of streets and water tank in the town of Denton.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose
of securing the prompt payment of all instalments of in-
terest thereon as the same shall become due, semi-annually
as aforesaid, and for the purpose of redeeming said bonds
at maturity, the Commissioners of Denton are hereby
authorized to levy annually a tax upon the assessible prop-
erty in the town of Denton, such sum as may be necessary
to pay the interest on said bonds, semi-annually, and to
redeem Two Thousand Dollars ($2, 000. 00) of said bonds
annually beginning May 1st, 1945, as aforesaid, until the
same have been fully redeemed and retired.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or
parts of Acts inconsistent with this Act be and the same
are hereby repealed.
SEC. 7 And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote supported by
three fifths of all members elected to each of the two
Houses of General Assembly, same shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 123.
(Senate Bill 272)
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners
of Howard County to retire and pension Julius Wosch,
Jr., a police officer of said County, and to levy a tax
therefor.
WHEREAS, Julius Wosch, Jr., has served with fidelity
and efficiency as a police officer of the Second District of
Howard County for the past thirty-four years and is en-
titled to retirement and pension.
