but shall only apply to those appointed or elected after
this Act becomes effective.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 107.
(Senate Bill 218)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
314 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County",
sub-title "Orphans' Court", as said section was amended
by Chapter 251 of the Acts of 1933, relating to the com-
pensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court of Queen
Anne's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 314 of Article 18 of the Code of
public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Queen Anne's County", sub-title "Orphans' Court", as
said section was amended by Chapter 251 of the Acts of
1933, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

314. The Judges of the Orphans' Court of Queen Anne's
County shall each receive the sum of eight dollars ($8. 00)
for every day's attendance upon the sessions of said Court,
to be paid by the County Commissioners of said Queen
Anne's County in quarterly payments; provided, that no
Judge of said Court shall receive in any one year as com-
pensation for his services a sum exceeding five hundred
dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1939.

more to issue Certificates of Indebtedness of said corpora-
tion to an amount not exceeding One Million Dollars
