CHAPTER 775.
(Senate Bill 436)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 11, 15, 24, 25, 29,
30, 35, 41, 42, 51, 52, 53 and sub-sections (1) Manufac-
turer's License; (2) Wholesaler's License; (3) Beer
License, Class A, off-sale; and (4) Beer and Light Wine
License, Class A, off-sale, of Section 3, of Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement) as
amended, title "Alcoholic Beverages", and to enact in lieu
thereof twenty-one new sections, to be known as Sections
1, 2, 5, 5B, 15, 24, 25, 29, 30, 38B, 41, 42, 51, 52, 53, 53A,
53B, 53C, 53D, 53E and sub-sections (1) Manufacturer's
License; (2) Wholesaler's License; (3) Beer License,
Class A, off-sale; and (4) Beer and Light Wine License,
Class A, off-sale, of Section 3 of said Article; altering
and amending the laws relating to the licensing, regula-
tion and control of the manufacture and sale of alcoholic
beverages in Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 11, 15, 24, 25, 29,
30, 35, 41, 42, 51, 52, 53 and sub-sections (1) Manufac-
turer's License; (2) Wholesaler's License; (3) Beer
License, Class A, off-sale; and (4) Beer and Light Wine
License, Class A, off-sale, of Section 3 of Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement), as
amended, title "Alcoholic Beverages, " be and the same are
hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That twenty-one new
sections be and the same are hereby added to Article 2B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement)
title "Alcoholic Beverages, " said new sections to be known
as Sections 1, 2, 5, 5B, 15, 24, 25, 29, 30, 38B, 41, 42, 51,
52, 53, 53A, 53B, 53C, 53D, 53E and sub-sections (1) Man-
ufacturer's License; (2) Wholesaler's License; (3) Beer
License, Class A, off-sale; and (4) Beer and Light Wine
License, Class A, off-sale, of Section 3 and to read as
follows:

1. Definitions. For the purposes of this Article and
unless otherwise required by the context:

(a) "Alcoholic beverage" means alcohol, brandy, whis-
key, rum, gin, cordial, beer, ale, porter, stout, wine, cider
and any other spirituous, vinous, malt or fermented liquor,
liquid, or compound, by whatever name called, containing
