prescribe by day labor in all cases wherein the funds pro-
vided for the carrying on or performance of such work
are provided by the government of the United States of
America, or any agency thereof, and the said government,
or any agency thereof, shall require that such work be
performed by day labor employed by said Commission. And
provided further that nothing in this section shall be con-
strued to prohibit the use by the said Commission of free
labor supplied by relief or charity agencies or organizations.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety, and having been passed upon by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 762.
(Senate Bill 363)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Schools", said new
section to be known as Section 458A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 458 of said Article, providing for
certain transportation for the pupils attending private
and parochial schools in Anne Arundel County under
certain conditions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Schools", said new section to be known as Section 458A,
to follow immediately after Section 458 of said Article,
and to read as follows:

458A. The Board of Education 9f Anne Arundel County
is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to permit any pupil
attending a private or parochial elementary school in said
County to ride in the buses operated by the Board of Edu-
cation of Anne Arundel County for the transportation of
pupils to and from the public elementary schools of the
