1636 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 756

Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100, 000. 00); for a new gym-
nasium building and equipment at the State Teachers Col-
lege—Towson One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100, -
000. 00), aggregating Two Hundred Thousand Dollars
($200, 000. 00), of which One Hundred Thousand Dollars
($100, 000. 00) shall be from the issue of August 15, 1939,
and One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100, 000. 00) shall
be from the issue of August 15, 1940.

(15) To the Maryland State School for the Deaf for
improvements to plumbing facilities and fire proofing stair-
ways and other equipment Fourteen Thousand Dollars
($14, 000. 00) from the issue of August 15, 1939.

(16) To St. Mary's Female Seminary for new Gym-
nasium Eighty-five Thousand Dollars ($85, 000. 00) from
the issue of August 15, 1939.

(17) To the Board of Public Works to be expended in
conformity with the provisions of Chapter 331 of the
Acts of 1939 of the General Assembly for the acqui-
sition of Morgan College; provided, however, that if no
agreement be reached for the acquisition of Morgan Col-
lege, then and in that event, the said Board of Public Works
shall have the authority and power to expend all or so
much thereof as it, in its discretion, shall deem advisable,
for the establishment of an institution of higher educa-
tion for Negroes, including the construction of any build-
ing or buildings and equipping the same. Provided, how-
ever, that if Morgan College is not acquired and if the said
Board of Public Works, in its discretion, decides it inadvis-
able to establish an institution for the higher education
of Negroes, then Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dol-
lars ($350, 000. 00) of the bonds authorized to be issued
February 15, 1940, shall not be sold or issued.

(18) To the Military Department for the acquisition
of the necessary sites and the erection thereon of a Naval
Militia Armory and hangars for the Maryland National
Guard, Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200, 000. 00)
from the issue of February 15, 1940.

(19) To the State Department of Forestry, for the
acquisition, improvement and development of forest lands,
parks and recreational areas, One Hundred Thousand Dol-
lars ($100, 000. 00) from the issue of February 15, 1940.

(20) To the Board of Public Works for repairs and
improvements to the State House, Fifteen Thousand Dol-
lars ($15, 000. 00) from the issue of February 15, 1940.
