CHAPTER 753.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section
38, of Article 1A, of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title, "Cumberland", sub-title, "Police and
Fire", as said Section was amended by Chapter 88, of
the Acts of the Extraordinary Session of the General
Assembly of Maryland in 1936, and re-enacted and
amended by Chapter 34 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1937, relating to the vacation and compen-
sation of members of the police force in the City of
Cumberland.

CHAPTER 754.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
5, 6, 12, 17, 18, 24, 38, 39, 44, 45, 48 and 55 of Article
63 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition),
title "Mechanics' Lien"; to add a new section to said
Article, said new section to be known as Section 38A
and to follow immediately after Section 38 of said Arti-
cle; to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 60
of said Article, as said section was enacted by Chapter
491 of the Acts of 1937 (General Session); and to repeal
Sections 25 to 35, inclusive, Section 37, and Sections 49
to 52, inclusive, of said Article, providing that mechanics'
liens, heretofore enforcible in equity or at law by writ of
scire facias, shall be enforcible only in equity within two
years from the date of filing such lien and that the
owner of the property subject to the lien, or any other
person interested therein, may have the property freed
from the lien by posting bond and may bring proceedings
in equity within said two years to compel the claimant
to prove the validity of the lien or to have it declared
void.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 5, 6, 12, 17, 18, 24, 38, 39, 44, 45,
48 and 55 of Article 63 of the Annnotated Code of Mary-
land (1924 Edition), title "Mechanics' Lien", and Section
60 of said Article, as said section was enacted by Chapter
491 of the Acts of 1937 (General Session), be and they
