for the purpose set forth in this Act, and all expenditures from
said fund shall be made and accounted for in the same manner
as other expenditures of the government of Montgomery County.

Sec. 18. Whenever any member of the Montgomery County
Police, having served not less than twenty-five years and
having reached the age of fifty-five years shall, for any cause,
become so permanently disabled as to incapacitate him for the
performance of duty and shall make written application there-
for and staid application shall be approved by the Police Trial
Board of said Montgomery County, or having reached the age
of sixty years, he shall in either event be retired from the serv-
ice thereof and be entitled to receive relief from the said Police
Relief Fund in an amount not to exceed fifty per centum per
year of the salary received by Mm at the date of retirement. In
case of the death of any member of the Police Department be-
fore or after retirement from the service thereof, leaving a
widow, or a child or children under sixteen years of age, the
widow shall be entitled to receive relief from the said Police
Fund in an amount not exceeding Sixty ($60. 00) Dollars per
month, and each child under the age of sixteen years in an
amount not exceeding Ten ($10. 00) Dollars per month; pro-
vided, that upon remarriage of any widow granted relief
under the provisions of this Act such relief shall cease, and
relief granted to or for any child or children under the age of
sixteen years shall cease upon their reaching that age; pro-
vided, further, that no widow, child or children of any deceased
member of the said Police Force resulting from any marriage
contracted subsequent to the date of retirement of such mem-
ber shall be entitled to any relief under the provisions of this
Act

The Police Civil Service Commissioner is authorized to cer-
tify the payment from the said Police Fund of a sum not
exceeding Seventy-five ($75. 00) Dollars in any one case to
defray funeral expenses of any deceased member of the Police
Department of said County, dying while in the service thereof.

Sec. 19. The Police Trial Board shall consider all cases for
the retirement and relief of members of the Police Department
rendered necessary or expedient under the provisions of this
Act, and all applications for relief of widows and children
under sixteen years of age. In every case of retirement the
County Health Officer shall certify, in writing, to the said
Board, the physical condition of the member for whom retire-
ment and relief is sought. The said Board shall give written
notice to any member of said Department under consideration
by it for retirement and relief to appear before the Board and
give such evidence under oath as it may desire, and the pro-
