AN ACT to add four new sections to Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Har-
ford County", sub-title "County Commissioners", as the
same was amended by Chapter 509 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1935; and as further amended by
Chapter 163 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, 1937, to follow Section 234T of said Article, and to be
known as Sections 234U, 234V, 234W and 234X, inclusive,
authorizing and empowering the County Commissioners of
Harford County to borrow upon the faith and credit of Har-
ford County a sum of money not to exceed one hundred and
fifty thousand dollars ($150, 000. 00) at a rate of interest not
to exceed three per cent, for construction of roads in Harford
County.
WHEREAS, The County Commissioners of Harford County
were authorized by Chapter 16 in the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, Session of 1931, and by subsequent amend-
ments thereto, to issue seven hundred and fifty thousand dol-
lars ($750, 000. 00) for the purpose of extending the State
Roads system in said county; and
WHEREAS, Six hundred thousand dollars ($600, 000. 00) of
said bond issue have been issued heretofore by the said Coun-
ty Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the said County Commissioners may not desire
to issue the remaining $150, 000 of said bond authorization;
but may wish to use said issue for the construction of farm
to market roads.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That four new sections be added to Article 13 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Harford County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to fol-
low Section 234T of said Article, to be known as Sections
234U, 234V, 234W and 234X and to read as follows:
234U. The County Commissioners of Harford County be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow at
such time as they may decide upon the faith and credit of Har-
ford County, a sum or sums of money not to exceed one hun-
dred and fifty thousand dollars ($150, 000. 00) and at a rate of
interest not to exceed three per cent per annum, for the pur-
pose of extending the public roads system in said county.
