and assessments, and the purchaser shall take title to said
property free and clear of past due taxes or assessments.

SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County shall, and they are
hereby directed to, return and pay over annually to the
Treasurer of the Mayor and Common Council of said Town of
Fairmount Heights, three-fourths (¾) of the full amount of
the road and bridge tax levied and collected each fiscal year
from property within the said Town of Fairmount Heights
also a part of the proceeds of gasoline taxes in the same
amount and manner as is now or may hereafter be required
by the law to be paid to incorporated towns in said County,
the money so returned to be expended by the said Mayor and
Common Council of Fairmount Heights for improving, main-
taining, lighting and repairing the roads, streets, lanes and
alleys in said town.

SEC. 16. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
Common Council shall not issue bonds or borrow any money
except as may be authorized by General, Local or Special
Act of the General Assembly of Maryland.

SEC. 17. And be it further enacted, That the Treasurer of
said Mayor and Common Council of Fairmount Heights shall
deposit all funds coming into his hands as such together with
all interest accruing thereon, in such depository or depositories
as may be directed by the Mayor and Common Council, to
his credit as such Treasurer, and that the Treasurer of said
Mayor and Common Council shall not dispose of any of the
funds coming into his hands as such Treasurer unless upon
check duly signed by him as Treasurer and countersigned by
the Mayor of said town, or some member of the Council duly
authorized by an ordinance passed by the Mayor and Common
Council and duly recorded among the minutes thereof.

SEC. 18. And be it further enacted, That all ordinances of
the Town of Fairmount Heights heretofore adopted, so far as
the same are consistent with the provisions of this Act, are
hereby confirmed and validated, and declared to be as valid
and enforceable as if the same bad been passed under the au-
thority of this Act, and all taxes heretofore levied by the Town
of Fairmount Heights, are hereby confirmed and validated
and shall remain a lien upon the respective properties, and
shall be collected in accordance with the procedure and in the
manner provided for by this Act. Provided, however, that
nothing herein contained shall prevent the Mayor and Common
Council from repealing or amending any ordinance now in
existence.
