Boards desire to abandon, and the Board of Education shall
proceed with these new items in the same manner and with
the same powers and restrictions as if the same had been origi-
nally mentioned in Section 3 of this Act.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 649.

(House Bill 843)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 203
of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County", as said section
was amended by Chapter 446 of the Acts of 1935, providing
that taxes be paid before deeds transferring property shall
be transferred on the assessment books or recorder of Dor-
chester County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 203 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester
County", as said section was amended by Chapter 446 of the
Acts of 1935, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:

203. Before any deed for conveyance of real estate in Dor-
chester County, shall be received for record by the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Dorchester County, the person offering
said deed for record shall submit the same to the Clerk of the
County Commissioners of said county, and if the property con-
veyed in the said conveyance shall be situated within the cor-
porate limits of any incorporated town within said county,
then, in addition to submitting it to the Clerk to the County
Commissioners, such deed or conveyance shall also be sub-
mitted to the Clerk to the Commissioners of such city or town
who shall thereupon make a transfer on the county assessment
books, and if the said property is in a city or town, also a
transfer upon the assessment books of the said city or town
of the said property, to the name of the new owner or owners
thereof. Before such property shall be transferred on the
said assessment books, all public taxes, assessments and
charges for the current year and all prior years shall have
