AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
229 and 230 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County",
sub-title "Hagerstown", and to add two new sections to said
Article, said new sections to be known as Sections 229 and
229B and to follow immediately after Section 229, enlarging
and extending the corporate limits of the City of Hagerstown
and altering the boundaries of the wards thereof, providing
for the preparation of two plats of said City by the County
Surveyor of Washington County, one to be recorded in the
Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Washington
County and a copy thereof to be admitted as evidence in all
Courts within the State, another to be kept by the Mayor
and Council of Hagerstown, and further providing for tax-
ation for the annexed territory.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 229 and 230 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Washington County", sub-title
"Hagerstown", be and the same are hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments and that two new Sections be and
they are hereby added to said Article, said new Sections to be
known as Sections 229A and 229B, to follow immediately after
Section 229 of said Article and all to read as follows:
229. The taxable limits, of the City of Hagerstown are de-
clared to be as follows: Beginning at a stone in the North
marginal line of the County Road leading from the Hagers-
town-Leitersburg Turnpike to Fiddlersburg, said stone be-
ing 1850 feet east of the marginal line of said Turnpike
and running thence in a northwesterly direction, with the same
bearing as that of the aforesaid north marginal line of the said
County Road, 11, 500 feet, thence at right angles to the first
line and running in a southwesterly direction 16, 000 feet,
thence at right angles to the second line and running in a
southeasterly direction 11, 360 feet to the east marginal line
of the Frederick Road, thence with the east marginal line of
Frederick Road in a general southerly direction, 2100 feet
more or less, to the east bank of the Antietam creek, said east
bank also being the southern boundary of the Town of Funks-
town, thence with the south boundary of the Town of Funks-
town, in an easterly direction a distance of 3000 feet, more or
less, to a point 300 feet from the east bank of the aforesaid
Antietam Creek, thence with the meandering of the Antietam
Creek at a distance of 300 feet therefrom in a general north-
