CHAPTER 638.
(House Bill 791)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 18
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Elections", sub-title "Registration", as
re-enacted with amendments by Chapter 75 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland for the year 1937; Sec-
tion 26 of the said Article and sub-title, as re-enacted with
amendments by Chapter 95 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland for the year 1937; and Sections 29-1,
29K, 29L, 29M, 29-O, 29P and 29R of the said Article and
sub-title, as enacted by Chapter 77 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland for the year 1937.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 18 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Elections", sub-title
"Registration", as re-enacted, with amendments, by Chapter
75 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland for the
year 1037; Section 26 of said Article and sub-title as re-enacted
with amendments by Chapter 95 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland for the year 1937; and Sections 29-I,
29K, 29L, 29M, 29-O, 29P and 29R of the said Article and sub-
title, as enacted by Chapter 77 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland for the year 1937; be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read
as follows:

18. On Tuesday six weeks preceding the election to be held
on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1896,
which shall occur after the enactment of this Article, each
Board of Registry shall meet at the place designated by the
Board of Supervisors of Elections, and shall proceed to make
a general registration of all voters in its precinct or district,
as the case may be. The proceedings of each Board of Reg-
istry shall be as follows: (1) They shall open the registry in
the City of Baltimore at 2 o'clock P. M., and continue in said
session until 10 o'clock P. M. In the counties the hours of
session shall be from 9 o'clock A. M. to 9 o'clock P. M. except
that in Wicomico County the said Board of Registry shall
hold a session from 10 o'clock A. M. to 7 o'clock P. M., and
that in Talbot County the said Board of Registry shall hold
a session from 8 o'clock A. M. to 7 o'clock P. M. One of the
officers of registration shall administer to all persons who
shall personally apply to register the following oath or affir-
mation: "You do solemnly swear (or affirm) that you will
