SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 635.
(House Bill 743)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 45,
Chapter 2, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
Special Session 1933, codified as Section 45 of Article 2B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1935 Supplement, so as
to increase the compensation of the Board of Beer License
Commissioners of Prince George's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 45 of Chapter 2 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, Special Session, 1933, codified as Sec-
tion 45 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
1935 Supplement, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

45. Boards of License Commissioners—Appointments and
Qualifications. The Governor, biennially, by and with the
advice and consent of the Senate, if in session, and if not
in session, then the Governor alone, shall appoint in Balti-
more City, and in each of the counties of Prince George's,
Calvert, Washington, Wicomico and Worcester Counties three
persons who shall constitute and be styled "The Board of
License Commissioners for Baltimore City or...............

County", as the case may be. In making said appointments,
the Governor shall designate one of the appointees in Balti-
more City and each of said counties to be the chairman of
the respective boards. Said commissioners shall be residents
and voters of Baltimore City or the respective counties, as
the case may be, and they shall be men or women of high
character and integrity and of recognized business capacity.
Provided, however, that all appointments made in pursuance
of the provisions of this Article made on or before the first
day of June, 1935, shall expire on said date and provided,
further, that the surviving members of the Board of License
Commissioners for Baltimore City appointed in pursuance
of Chapter 491 of the Acts of 1933, and the Board of Beer
License Commissioners of Prince George's County, appointed
in pursuance of Chapter 488 of the Acts of 1933, shall remain
in office and constitute members of the Boards of License
