SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 79.
(Senate Bill 156)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
840 of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title, "Montgomery County",
sub-title, "Rockville", to empower The Mayor and Coun-
cil of Rockville to provide by ordinance for raising suffi-
cient annual revenue for the maintenance, operation and
repair of its sewerage system and disposal plant; to
require all habitations and buildings within which water
is used within the Town of Rockville to be connected
with such system and to empower The Mayor and Coun-
cil of Rockville by ordinance to establish charges for
the use of such system; to make such charges a lien upon
the property served by such system and to provide that
such charges shall be added to the annual municipal
taxes of the properties served by such system and col-
lected therewith and to make all Statutes relative to the
collection of such taxes and to the sale of properties
therefor applicable to such charges; and to provide that
such charges may also be collected by suit.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 840 of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
read as follows:

840. The Mayor and Council of Rockville is hereby
empowered to provide by ordinance for raising sufficient
annual revenue to provide for the maintenance, operation
and repair of its sewerage system and disposal plant. All
habitations and all other buildings within which water is
used within the Town of Rockville shall be connected with
said sewerage system and The Mayor and Council of Rock-
ville shall have power by ordinance to establish charges
for the use of such system which shall be equitable and
just and based upon uniform standards of charge. Such
charges shall be liens upon the properties served by said
system and shall be added to the annual municipal taxes
