and other town officers, as is possessed by a justice of the
peace and a notary public. Any person who swears falsely
before said secretary commissioner shall be guilty of the crime
of perjury and shall be subject to the penalties provided by

the laws of the State of Maryland.

(F) That all contracts made by said Commission on behalf
of said town shall be made in the name of the town of Hill-
side, and shall be signed by the chairman commissioner, or
vice-chairman commissioner in his absence, and shall be at-
tested by the secretary commissioner who shall seal the same
with the town seal. No commissioner and no other town offi-
cial shall be, directly or indirectly, personally financially in-
terested in any contract awarded or entered into by said Com-
mission on behalf of said town.

(G) That no member of said Commission shall receive out of
town funds or property any salary for his services as such
member of said Commission.

(H) That said Commission shall have no power to appoint
any person to any official position or office in said town to
which is attached any salary payable out of town funds or
property except in the case of the town treasurer or as other-
wise provided in this Act.

(I) That said Commission shall by resolution appoint a
town treasurer to be known as the Hillside treasurer, who
shall also act as clerk to said Commission. The salary of said
town treasurer shall be sixty dollars ($60. 00) per annum.

(J) That each of the commissioners appointed in Section
12 of this Act shall, before entering upon the duties of his
office, take oath, before a justice of the peace, or other officer
or person (including a notary public), authorized by law to
administer oaths in Prince George's County, that he will dili-
gently and faithfully discharge all the duties of his office. Each
of the commissioners elected under Section 10 of this Act shall
likewise take. such an oath, but such oath of any of such last
named commissioners may be taken either before the retiring
secretary commissioner or before a justice of the peace, or
other officer or person (including a notary public), authorized
by law to administer oaths in said county. Such oaths, or a
certified copy of the same, shall be kept among the town rec-
ords.

(K) That said town treasurer, before entering upon the
duties of his office, shall take oath, before the secretary com-
missioner, or before a justice of the peace or other officer or
person (including a notary public), authorized to administer
oaths in Prince George's County, that lie will diligently, faith-
fully and honestly discharge all the duties of his office, and
also shall give bond to the town of Hillside, with such surety or
sureties as said Commission may by resolution require, in the
