purpose of improving the streets and roads within the City of
Crisfleld and for paying the cost of engraving or printing said
bonds and all other incidental costs and expenses connected
with the issuance thereof. Said bonds shall be designated the
"Crisfield Improvement Bonds of 1939. "
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the principal and
interest on said bonds shall be paid out of Crisfield's portion
of the Lateral Road Gasoline Tax Fund allocated or set aside
for use in Somerset County. The State Roads Commission
shall annually pay to the Mayor and Council of Crisfield,
Crisfield's portion of the Gasoline Tax Fund to pay the prin-
cipal and interest on said bonds as the same may fall due. If
Crisfield's portion of the Gasoline Tax Fund prove insufficient
to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, the Mayor
and Council of Crisfield shall levy and collect an annual tax
on the assessable property in said municipal corporation, in
the same manner as other taxes are levied and collected in
said city, for the purpose of paying the principal and interest
on said bonds, as they become due and payable.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety, and being passed
upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all of
the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Treasurer of Charles
County to make certain payments from the money received
by Mm from dog licenses and to transfer a certain amount
of said money into the general funds of the County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Treasurer of Charles County be and he is here-
by authorized and directed, after establishing a reserve of one
thousand dollars ($1, 000. 00) for the payment of losses due to
dogs, to pay from the money now in his hands, amounting to
$5, 130. 55, the sum of five hundred dollars ($500. 00) to the
