Public or Justice of the Peace of Worcester County, Mary-
land, that they, severally, will fairly, faithfully and honestly
perform their duties as such Registrars, and on the failure of
any such Registrars to serve or qualify, the Mayor shall ap-
point some other person duly qualified as substitute, and said
substitute, after having taken the oath aforesaid, shall hold
office for the unexpired term.
(c) It shall be the duty of the Mayor and Council of Poco-
moke City to furnish the Registrars with suitable books in
which to register voters, according to the provisions of this
Act.
(d) The Registrars shall give at least two weeks' notice in
one or more newspapers published in Pocomoke City, of the
time, as hereinafter specified, and the place of the sitting of
the Registrars, for the purpose of registration.
(e) There shall be a registration of the qualified voters of
Pocomoke City on the first and second Mondays in March of
each year, at which times the said Registrars shall sit for the
performance of their duties from eight o'clock A. M. to six
o'clock P. M. If necessary for the performance of their duties,
or for the convenience of the citizens of Pocomoke City, the
Mayor may appoint another day or other days for such sit-
ting of the Registrars.
(f) The registration to be held on the first and second
Mondays in March, of the year nineteen hundred and thirty-
nine, shall be a general registration of the qualified voters of
Pocomoke City, and no person shall be allowed to vote at any
Municipal Election held thereafter unless he or she shall have
been registered at such time, or at some succeeding registra-
tion day.
(g) The said Registrars shall, at their sittings:
(1) Record upon the registration books, the names of all
persons who are qualified voters of the said Town, under the
provisions of this Act, and whose names are not recorded in
said books, who shall apply to said Registrars for registration,
together with such information as the Mayor and Council of
Pocomoke City, may, from time to time, by Ordinance, require
to be recorded; and
(2) Strike from the said books the names of all deceased
persons and all persons who shall have removed from the cor-
porate limits of said Town and remained absent for a period
of six consecutive months, and taken up their residence else-
where.
