SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the sub-title
"The Department of Welfare" following after Section 105
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition) title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments, " be, and the same is hereby amended by
striking out the said sub-title and inserting in lieu thereof
a new sub-title to be known as the "Department of Cor-
rection. "

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That wherever in
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland the term
"Department of Welfare" appears, there shall be substi-
tuted therefor the term "Department of Correction, " and
wherever in the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land the term "Board of Welfare" appears there shall be
substituted therefor the term "Board of Correction. " Upon
the passage of this Act, the Department of Prison Manage-
ment and the Director of Correction shall have and exer-
cise all of the rights, powers, duties, obligations and func-
tions heretofore exercised by the Department of Welfare
and the Board of Welfare, respectively.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1st, 1939.

CHAPTER 70.

(Senate Bill 16)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 4,
5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1924 Edition), title "Governor—Executive and Ad-
ministrative Departments", sub-title "General Provisions. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Article 41 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title 'Governor—
Executive and Administrative Departments", be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

4. Where an existing office, board, commission, department
or other governmental agency is abolished or superseded by
any Act of the Legislature, all books, papers, maps, charts,
plans, records, documents and all supplies, equipment and
other property in the possession of the same, or of any mem-
ber or officer thereof, shall be delivered to or shall vest in
