CHAPTER 568.
(House Bill 266)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Oath of Office and
Bond", providing for the reduction of bond required for
sheriffs of Cecil County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Oath of
Office and Bond", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:
2. He shall also, before he acts as such, give bond to the
State of Maryland in the penalty of twenty-five thousand
dollars, with security, to be approved by the two judges of the
Orphans' Court or a judge of the Circuit Court for his county,
if he be elected for a county, or by two judges of the Orphans'
Court of Baltimore City, or a judge of the Superior Court of
Baltimore City, if he be elected for said city, with condition
that he shall well and faithfully execute the office of sheriff
of County or the City of Baltimore, in all things appertaining
thereto, and shall well and truly perform all the duties re-
quired by law to be by him performed; provided, that the
sheriffs elected for Somerset, Harford, Calvert, Howard,
Carroll, Cecil, St. Mary's, Dorchester, Anne Arundel, Queen
Anne's, Wicomico, Garrett, Worcester, Montgomery, Kent,
Baltimore and Caroline counties shall he required to give bond
in the penalty of ten thousand dollars, and for no greater sum.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "State
Roads Commission", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 7AAA and to follow immediately after Section 7AA of
said Article, authorizing and directing the State Roads Com-
