payment, payment and collection of delinquent assessments,
interest, penalty and costs, including sale for non-payment, ap-
plicable to the making of street improvements in suck town
shall apply to the making of improvements under this Act ex-
cept where inconsistent herewith.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 540.
(House Bill 648)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 991
of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Montgomery County", sub-title "Wash-
ington Suburban Sanitary District", and Section 1015 of
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Washington Suburban Sanitary District", as amended by
Chapter 45 of the Laws of Maryland of 1937, so as to author-
ize the said Commission to formulate and adopt a pension or
retirement plan for its employees; to repeal and re-enact
with amendments Section 992 of said Article 16, being Sec-
tion 1016 of said Article 17, to authorize the Commission to
deposit a sum of money in Court at any time after con-
demnation proceeding has been begun and to take posses-
sion of the property sought to be condemned and to sell
any of its real estate not necessary for the operation of its
system and to ratify sales heretofore made; to repeal and
re-enact with amendments Section 994 of said Article 16,
being Section 1018 of said Article 17, to authorize the Com-
mission, at its option, to issue serial bonds in addition to its
present authority to issue sinking fund bonds; to repeal and
to re-enact with amendments Section 995 of Article 16, being
Section 1019 of Article 17, to authorize the Commission to
issue temporary notes, not exceeding $200, 000; and to repeal
and re-enact with amendments Section 1002 of said Article
16, being Section 1026 of said Article 17, providing for the
method of payment and apportionment of funds between the
serial and sinking fund bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 991, 992, 994, 995 and 1002 of Article 16,
