ter line of said street from the point of its intersection with
the southern line of Colesville Road on the north to the point
of its intersection with the northern line of Avalon Avenue
on the south; to give concurrent jurisdiction to the police
of the two Towns for the width of Calvert Street between
said points for the making of arrests; to provide for the mak-
ing of permanent street improvements thereon and for the
furnishing1 of other public services.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That on and after June 1, 1939, the boundary, on Calvert
Street, between the Towns of Riverdale and Hyattsville in
Prince George's County, incorporated respectively as the
"Mayor and Common Council of Riverdale" and "The Mayor
and Common Council of Hyattsville", be and the same is here-
by changed from the western line of Calvert Street to the
center line of said street from the point of its intersection with
the southern line of Colesville Road on the north to the point
of its intersection with the northern line of Avalon Avenue on
the south.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the police of the
Mayor and Common Council of Riverdale and the police of
The Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville shall have con-
current jurisdiction over the entire width of Calvert Street
from the point of its intersection with Colesville Road on the
north to the point of its intersection with the Northern line of
Avalon Avenue on the south for the purpose of making arrests.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
Common Council of Riverdale and The Mayor and Common
Council of Hyattsville shall by mutual agreement embodied in
ordinances of the respective towns provide for the lighting of
said street and other public services and shall in like manner
establish the grade of said street before any permanent street
improvements are made thereon.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That permanent improve-
ments consisting of sidewalks, or sidewalks, curbs and gutters,
lying wholly within the corporate limits of either town may
be made upon petition of the owners of property abutting on
Calvert Street to the Mayor and Common Council of the town
within which the property is located and it shall be the duty
of said Mayor and Common Council to make such improve-
ments provided the petition conform in all respects to the law
applicable to petitions for the making of similar improvements
