SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 484.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 1 of
Chapter 206 of the Acts of 1933, regulating and restricting
the use and sale of fireworks within the first and fourth pre-
cincts of the Seventh Election District of Montgomery
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 1 of Chapter 206 of the Acts of 1933 be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:
1. No person shall, within the first and fourth pre-
cincts of the Seventh Election District of Montgomery County
sell, deliver, discharge, or set off any of the following described
fireworks or noise-making explosives: Firecrackers of any kind
or description, torpedoes, roman candles, skyrockets, devil
chasers, son-of-a-guns, bombs, or any other fireworks which
contain powder or other explosive composition; provided,
however, that nothing herein contained shall prohibit the dis-
charge or setting off of the above-mentioned fireworks on occa-
sions of public celebration and exhibition where a permit so
to do is first had and obtained from the County Commission-
ers; and provided further, that no such permit shall be issued
unless the application therefor contains a notation of the time
and place of such celebration and place of storage of such
fireworks, and the County Commissioners are satisfied that
the public safety will not be jeopardized.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.
