CHAPTER 475.
(House Bill 562)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 31
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935
Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Regu-
lations and Restrictions", permitting alcoholic beverages to
be sold at the bar for consumption on the premises in Wash-
ington County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 31 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages",
sub-title "Regulations and Restrictions", be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
31. General Regulations, Hotels, Restaurants and Clubs—
Restrictions After Midnight and on Sunday. No retail dealer
shall be permitted to sell any alcoholic beverages at a bar or
counter at any time between the hours of midnight and 6
A. M. or at any bar or counter on Sunday. In Talbot
County, it shall be unlawful for anyone to sell any alcoholic
beverages on Sunday. Any person selling such beverages in
Talbot County on Sunday shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not exceeding
fifty ($50. 00) dollars for the first offense and for each suc-
ceeding offense shall be fined not exceeding one hundred
($100. 00) dollars, or imprisoned in the County Jail for not
more than thirty (30) days, or be both fined and imprisoned,
in the discretion of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be It further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.
