valuation of the property in the City of Frostburg as author-
ized by Section 145 of Chapter 31 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1922.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 57.
AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Alle-
gany County, " sub-title "Justices of the Peace, " sub-heading
"Jurisdiction, " said new sections to be known as Sections
367B and 367C and to follow immediately after Section
367A of said Article, to make uniform the concurrent civil
jurisdiction of the Circuit Court and the Justices of the
Peace for Allegany County, to make uniform the time of
appeal from Justices of the Peace in said county in all
cases, civil and criminal, except prosecutions under the
Motor Vehicle Law, and to repeal all laws inconsistent there-
with.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That two new sections be and they are hereby added
to Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Justices
of the Peace, " sub-heading "Jurisdiction, " said new sections
to be known as Sections 387B and 367C, to follow immediately
after Section 367A of said Article, and to read as follows:
367B. In all suits instituted after June 1, 1931, where the
amount claimed or the thing in action exceeds the sum or value
of one hundred and fifty dollars, and justices of the peace in
Allegany County have jurisdiction, the Circuit Court for said
county shall have concurrent jurisdiction with said justices of
the peace.
