80                           LAWS OF MARYLAND.                   [CH. 50

Board of County Commissioners in addition to the salary or
compensation otherwise authorized, shall receive the sum of
twelve hundred dollars ($1, 200. 00) per annum, payable in
equal monthly installments. For his services in connection
with said Board, the treasurer of Montgomery County shall
receive, in addition to compensation otherwise authorized for
him, the sum of twelve hundred dollars ($1, 200. 00) per
annum, payable in equal monthly installments, and the attor-
ney or the counsel to the said Board of County Commissioners,
for his services in connection with the duties of said Board
shall, in addition to such other compensation as may be
authorized, receive the sum of one thousand dollars ($ly-
000. 00) per annum, payable in equal monthly installments,
and for the purpose of paying the sums herein authorized,
and in order to defray other necessary expenses of said Dis-
bursement Committee, the Board of County Commissioners of
Montgomery County is authorized, directed and empowered
to levy annually against all of the assessable property of
Montgomery County, such sums as may be necessary for the
purposes hereinabove mentioned.

CHAPTER 50.

AN ACT to amend Section 1 of Chapter 191 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1927, en-
titled "A Bill, entitled An Act to provide for the payment
by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County,
Maryland, so long as said Fire Companies remain incorpo-
rated bodies and active fire-fighting organizations, the sum
of five hundred dollars ($500. 00) annually for each piece
of fire-fighting apparatus having a pump or chemical tank,
said money to be used for maintenance and equipment of
the several said departments, and to levy said necessary
amount on the assessable property of said county, and to
provide for the date on which said payment shall be made
so as to require the approval of the County Commissioners
for the organization of new fire companies claiming the
benefits of this Act. 7'
