enforcing the Building Code for Montgomery County. The
County Building Inspector and his assistant shall give their
full time to the performance of their duties as such public
officers.

CHAPTER 304.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
177'Q of Chapter 790 of the Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Montgomery County, " sub-title "Roads, " as
the same was enacted by Chapter No. 629 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1918, and
as said Section was edited by Horace E. Flack and desig-
nated as Section 766 of Article 16 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland, under the authorization of Chapter No. 193 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of
1929, so as to enlarge the powers of the County Commis-
sioners to condemn land for public purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 177Q of Chapter 790 of the Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County, " sub-
title "Roads, " as the same was enacted by Chapter 229 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1918,
as said section was edited by Horace E. Flack and designated
as Section 766 of Article 16 of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland, under the authorization of Chapter No. 193 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1929,
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as
follows:
177Q. The said County Commissioners shall have full
power to agree and contract with owners for the purchase of
land, the use of which may be required in connection with the
opening of any new road, street, alley or sidewalk, for the con-
struction or repair of any bridge, the re-location, straightening
or widening of any road, street, alley or sidewalk, the proper
drainage of any such road, street, alley or sidewalk, for the
building of any public building or structure, or for any other
