qualified voters, and for the voting thereon and for ascertain-
ing the results; and is hereby authorized and empowered, for
such purpose to use the registration lists, books, ballot boxes
and other election paraphernalia and agencies of the Board of
Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore City. In the case of a
special election the general election law of the State, wherever
applicable, shall likewise apply.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Sections 483, 484
and 485 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(Bagby's Edition of 1924), title "Crimes and Punishments, 7'
sub-title "Sabbath Breaking, " shall not apply to the City of
Baltimore, and shall be repealed in so far as such sections pro-
hibit amusements, entertainments or games and the sale at
retail of merchandise in the City of Baltimore on Sunday;
provided, however, that the said repeal shall not take effect
until an ordinance passed in the exercise of the power granted
under the provisions of Section 1 of this Act has been approved
by the voters of Baltimore City, as provided by Section 2 of
this Act.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws, whether Public General or Public Local Laws, incon-
sistent with the provisions of this Act be and they are hereby
repealed to th^ extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 288.
AN ACT to amend Chapter No. 618 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, Session 1927, so as to reduce the
period of notice required to be given to property owners, con-
cerning the removal of obstructions from two months to ten
days.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter No. 618 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1927, entitled "An Act to
