Maryland of 1902, Chapter 73, and that the sum of money
required to reduce and pay the balance of said bonds remain-
ing due after the application of the proceeds of sale from the
bonds herein authorized shall be paid out of the sinking fund
of the corporation on hand at the time of redeeming said bonds.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Burgess and
Commissioners of Middletown shall have full power and au-
thority, and it is required to levy all necessary taxes upon the
property within the taxable limits of said corporation for the
payment of interest on the bonds hereby authorized to be is-
sued, and for the payment of the principal of said bonds as
they mature, or shall provide for a sinking fund for the liqui-
dation of said bonds at maturity.

CHAPTER 269.

AN ACT to add one new section to Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Frederick County, " sub-title "Treasurer, " said section to
be known as Section 821 A, and to follow immediately after
Section 821 of said Article, for the purpose of providing
additional clerical aid in the office of the Treasurer for
Frederick County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That one new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Frederick County, " sub-title "Treas-
urer, " said new section to be known as 821A, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 821 of said Article and to read as follows:

821 A. The said Treasurer is hereby authorized to appoint
such additional clerk or clerks, as he may find necessary to
conduct said office efficiently, in addition to the clerks provided
by Sections 820 and 821, at a compensation not to exceed one
thousand four hundred dollars ($1, 400. 00) per annum, as sal-
ary or salaries to said additional clerk or clerks; and the Coun-
ty Commissioners are hereby authorized and directed to levy
one thousand four hundred dollars ($1, 400. 00) annually and
