a majority of the Board of County Commissioners of Calvert
County. It shall be used exclusively for the construction and
improvement of roads and bridges in Calvert County by the
State Roads Commission of Maryland and for the purchase and
acquisition of land, rights of way and for any necessary ex-
penses incident to the construction and improvement of roads
and bridges by the State Roads Commission in said county. Pay-
ments out of the proceeds from the sale of said bonds shall be
made from time to time by the said Treasurer upon proper
vouchers presented to him by the State Roads Commission. The
roads and bridges to be constructed or improved shall be such
roads as may be selected by the State Roads Commission of
Maryland, provided that the said money shall be divided as
equally as practical among the several election districts of Cal-
vert County, and when said roads and bridge® shall have been
constructed and improved, they shall thereafter be maintained
by the said State Roads Commission as part of the highway sys-
tem of the State.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
paying the interest on said bonds the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Calvert County shall for the year 1931 and annually
thereafter until all of said bonds1 issued under the authority of
this Act shall have been redeemed, levy a tax upon the assess-
able property in said county sufficient to pay the annual interest
on said bonds outstanding, said taxes to be collected as other
taxes levied in said county are collected.

Any interest which may accrue on the bank deposits made by
the Treasurer of the proceeds from the sale or sales of said
bonds shall be withdrawn from the special account from time to
time and applied to the payment of the interest when due on
said bonds outstanding, in which event the Board of County
Commissioners may levy a tax sufficient to pay the difference
between the whole amount of the annual interest on said bonds
outstanding and such part of said interest as is met by interest
accruals on the bank deposit.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
paying the principal of said bonds when they severally mature,
the County Commissioners of Calvert County shall annually
levy a tax upon the assessable property in said county sufficient
to pay said bonds as they severally mature, said taxes to be
collected as other taxes levied in said county are collected; pro-
vided that pursuant to the contract between the State Roads
Commission and the said County Commissioners, the State Roads
Commission of Maryland, or the Comptroller and Treasurer of
Maryland on order of the said State Roads Commission, may
annually pay over to the said County Commissioners to. be used
