each year a list of all taxes in default levied, and all semi-
annual installments due and unpaid, of special assessments
made by the Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville upon
real estate within the corporate limits of the town of Hyatts-
ville, commencing with the tax year 1931-1932. Said list shall
set out respectively the name or names of the owner or owners
of the real estate so listed, a fair description of each piece of real
estate sufficient to notify the owner or owners thereof that it
is his property which is advertised; the amount of the taxes
and/or assessments, interest, penalties and costs for which the
same is liable; and a reference to the subdivision in which said
real estate is situated. Said reference shall be sufficient if
made by using the last initials of the subdividers and the
abbreviations of the subdivision as, for instance, "J. and W's
3rd Add. to Hyattsville. " The amount of said taxes and/or
assessments, interest, penalties and costs may be indicated by
the dollar sign and a period in the same way dollars and cents
are usually written in figures as, for instance, "$3. 50. " The
said treasurer shall publish said list in some newspaper pub-
lished in the town of Hyattsville once a week for three succes-
sive weeks prior to the first Monday in April for each year
real estate is advertised to be sold for such taxes and assess-
ments. Each piece of real estate so advertised for sale shall
bear a charge of seventy cents to cover the costs of said adver-
tisement, and a charge of twenty-five cents to cover the costs
of said verifying the name or names of the owner or owners of
such real estate, and when real estate has been sold under this
Act and has not been redeemed before the issuance of the order
of publication hereinafter provided, there shall be an additional
seventy cents charged to each piece of real estate so sold and
unredeemed, and this additional charge shall be included in
the report of sale of the said treasurer as a charge upon such
real estate.

538. That the Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville,.
a municipal corporation, be and the same is hereby empowered
and authorized to construct roadbeds, sidewalks, curbs, gutters
and street improvements, or any or all, in the town of Hyatts-
ville, Maryland, in such cases as it may determine the same to
be necessary for the public benefit, and for the benefit of the
abutting land and of the owners of the said abutting land.
