the State of Maryland a good and sufficient bond with surety
or sureties to be approved by the Chief Judge of the Supreme
Bench of Baltimore City in the penalty of ten thousand dol-
lars, conditioned to truly and faithfully discharge, execute and
perform all and singular the duties and obligations of his
office, and that he will account for and pay over to the Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles all fines, penalties, forfeitures and
costs for which he is bound to account and pay over to the
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. And each of the deputy
clerks assigned to the sitting Magistrates, before entering upon
the duties of their office, shall execute and deliver to the State
of Maryland a good and sufficient bond, with surety or sureties
to be approved by the Chief Judge of the Supreme Bench of
Baltimore City, in the penalty of five thousand dollars con-
ditioned to truly and faithfully discharge, execute and perform
all and singular the duties and obligations of their respective
offices, and that they will account for and pay over to the
Chief Clerk of the Traffic Court all fines, penalties, forfeitures,
fees and costs collected by them. The several Magistrates as-
signed to the Traffic Court shall not handle any funds of the
Court and shall not be required to give any other or additional
bond than that required by other Justices of the Peace under
Section 624, Article 4 of the Code of Public Local LAWS OF MARYLAND.

The Mayor and City Council shall provide suitable and
proper quarters for said Traffic Court in the station house of
the Central Police District of Baltimore City, or at such other
place as may be convenient and suitable, but in no event shall
said quarters or location of the Traffic Court be at a greater
distance than five city squares or blocks from the Court House
of Baltimore City.

The Governor shall also appoint, by and with the advice
and consent of the Senate, and if the Senate shall not be in
session, then the Governor shall appoint from the City of Balti-
more at large an additional Justice of the Peace, who shall be
of high moral character and a reputable member of the Bar
of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, who shall have been
actively engaged in the practice of law for at least five years,
who shall receive a salary of two thousand five hundred dollars
per annum, payable monthly, and whose jurisdiction, duties and
powers shall be the same as those conferred upon and required
of the other Magistrates assigned to the Traffic Court as afore-
said, and who shall be designated by the Governor to sit in said
court in the absence by illness or otherwise of the other Magis-
