LAWS OF MARYLAND OF 1931
MARYLAND, Set:
At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun and
held in the City of Annapolis, on the Seventh day of
January, 1981, and ending on the Sixth day of April,
1981, the Honorable Albert C. Ritchie, being Gov-
ernor of the State, the following Laws were enacted,
to wit:
CHAPTER 1.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 14 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard
County, " sub-title "County Treasurer, " said new section to
be known as Section 99A and to follow immediately after
Section 99 of said Article, relating to the payment of taxes
levied for the years 1930 and 1931.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 14
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Howard County, " sub-title "County Treasurer, " said
new section to be known as Section 99A, to follow immediately
after Section 99 of said Article, and to read as follows:
99A. The notice provided for in the foregoing Section 99 as
to the default of all taxpayers not having paid their taxes on
or before the first day of January following the levy, and the
sale of the property of such persons in default, shall not apply
to the levy for the years 1930 and 1931, but in said years the
taxpayers shall not be in default until the second Monday in
April, 1931, and 1932, respectively, on or before which date the
Treasurer shall accept one-third of the taxes due by each of said
taxpayers, and on or before June 1st, in said years, he shall
accept one-third of the taxes due by each of said taxpayers, and,
on or before August 1st, in said years, he shall accept the remain-
ing one-third of the taxes due by each of said taxpayers. If
there shall be default on the part of any taxpayer in the pay-
ment of the taxes due as above provided, then it shall be lawful
and it shall be the duty of the Treasurer to proceed to advertise
and sell the property in default after giving the same notice
