contract is awarded, to make a contract in writing for the
faithful performance of his work, and said contractor shall
agree in said contract to complete and equip said building in
time for occupancy not later than September 1, 1933, to pay
all laborers employed by him on said building, and for all
materials used in the construction and equipping of the same,
and shall give bond, acceptable to said Board, for the faithful
performance of his contract. The said Board of Education is
hereby given full power and authority to employ an architect
or architects and to do all things in connection with the con-
struction and equipping of said building as may be necessary.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the money arising
from the sale of said bonds shall be deposited in a separate and
special account in some bank or banks, savings institution or
institutions or trust company or companies by the said Board
of Education of Washington County that will guarantee to pay
interest on daily balances at the best rate obtainable, and the
said money shall be paid out only on checks signed by the
president of the said Board of Education of Washington
County, countersigned by the Treasurer of said Board.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of
this Act shall be construed as additional and supplementary to
and not in substitution for or in conflict with any of the pro-
visions of the General Laws of this State relating to public
schools and the powers of the State Superintendent of Schools,
in regard to the plans, construction and erection of public
school buildings.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
paying the interest on said bonds and for redeeming said bonds
as they mature the said County Commissioners of Washington
County shall for the year 1932 and annually thereafter until
all of said bonds issued under the authority of this Act shall
mature and be redeemed, levy a tax upon the assessable prop-
erty of said county sufficient to pay the annual interest on said
bonds outstanding and to redeem said bonds as they mature
and become due, said taxes to be collected as other taxes levied
in said county are collected.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.
